MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2018

1 Peter 4:12-13, NIV, “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”

Dear God, keep us strong and courageous to face whatever life may throw at us. Help us find your light and remain firm during our darkest times. Help us seek peace within our hearts so that we may become worthy disciples and messengers of your good news. Let us take part in the sufferings of our Lord Jesus Christ, so that we may truly see and realize your will and that we could prepare for His coming. And in every pain, grant that we may love you more and more. In every tear, we may be full of desire to serve you forever and always. That after enduring those heavy loads, we may feel great satisfaction instead. Thank you for showing us your mercy. We ask that you guide us towards your ways. Amen.

Romans 8:14-16, NIV, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Dear God, Almighty Father, thank you for touching our hearts of your fatherly love. May you grant us that grace so that we may be worthy as your sons and daughters. Oh, how great it is to be carried by you in your arms as we rest our burdens on your shoulders. How great it is to sit on your lap as you listen to every word our hearts say. Being recognized as your child alone is the greatest honor every creation of yours can have. Psalm 62:5-8, NIV, “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.” Dear God, you are our shelter.
