Luke 12:32, RSV, “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Dear God, our shepherd, look upon us your little flock. We humbly come to you, seeking your acceptance and protection. In our weak times, please give us strength to continue the long walk with you. May we find hope and rest in you when the burden seems to heavy for us, especially those who are suffering from illness and caught between wars and those who seem to be blinded by their earthly desires. Strengthen us in faith that we may only see you Lord — that we may only follow a flock you’ve gathered to stay with you forever and ever in heaven. Because you are our One True God, our ever loving Shepherd whom we entrust fully our lives, we will serve you with all our might. Amen.

Romans 8:14-16, NIV, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Dear God, Almighty Father, thank you for touching our hearts of your fatherly love. May you grant us that grace so that we may be worthy as your sons and daughters. Oh, how great it is to be carried by you in your arms as we rest our burdens on your shoulders. How great it is to sit on your lap as you listen to every word our hearts say. Being recognized as your child alone is the greatest honor every creation of yours can have.
