Isaiah 2:2-3a, NIV, “In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.”

Dear God, you are the greatest among all, you are the highest above all. Your will, your commandments, your words are the most treasured gifts. Because your thoughts are higher than my thoughts, please govern my mind and my heart. Because you are our one true God, please cleanse me from all the dirt of evil and fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I may trace this world righteously and proclaim to everyone your message. Thereafter, all of them will come see you and live up to your commands. Let us hear and see you as you speak to us in so many ways. Help us to see clearly the truth behind the curtains of this world. And then we will come victorious and true conquerors of what is against you. Amen.

Philippians 3:20-21, NIV, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” Dear God, keep us close to you. Govern our minds and hearts so whatever we may do be done in the glory and in honor of our savior Jesus Christ. One who forever reigns the heaven and earth. We will wait for His coming for we believe that we will be renewed and cleansed deserving a citizenship in heaven. For this, help us Oh Lord to find enlightenment in your words and that we may be able to put them into action. Grant us a kind, forgiving, honest, patient and loving heart so that we may proclaim your goodness sincerely and truthfully to everyone. Everything here on earth is temporary — money is, fame is, jewelry is, even us humans. It is only you Lord God who is eternal — your Kingdom, your will, your love. How beautiful it is to live in accordance with your will and laws where we can find true peace and justice. Thank you Lord God for sending down your beloved son Jesus Christ to save us all. How to Be a Disciple in Today’s Manassas Baptist Church
