How Does One Lead A Person to Baptist Church?

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.-Hebrews 10:24-25

There was a time when you  believe that a person will come to Mount Vernon Baptist Church when he or she hears the words of Jesus Christ. That in a social setting with friends or strangers, you can bring the conversation to a spiritual topic and  start it out with one question, “Would you like to go to Baptist Church with me? Yes, a majority are believers of God but how many are really followers who put their faith into practice? How can you as a Baptist Church member do this?

Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them. 14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him. -Mark 2:13-14

Inviting a family member can sometimes take a lot of effort even if your Baptist Church has long cultivated a culture of welcome. It can also be because one hasn’t admitted yet that they are a sinner and in desperate need of God’s grace. All of us have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. This can feel pretty intimidating to directly invite people to church.Your congregation might need a little extra encouragement to take a bold step and extend a personal invitation to someone, so we have a few tips to help get them ready. A personal invitation is perhaps the best way to invite someone to church because there’s an existing connection for the invitee. People will typically feel much more comfortable attending a new church when they already know someone there.

Don’t feel like a failure if they give you a “no thanks” to your Baptist Church invitation. Another common fear is getting a negative reaction. Move on through any fears of rejection and don’t lose hope and keep inviting! Remember, you will never encounter a “yes” if you never ask. Based on experience, almost everyone will accept your invite graciously whether they’re interested or not.

Remember this, it’s always going to be full. Your Baptist Church will always be full of people. Full of people who haven’t been to church for a long time in their lives. Some may feel that they will be criticized, analyzed and judged unfairly. But those new here are the people who have no God in their lives and isn’t sure of the moment how to welcome him back.

You need to do something. Something to inspire that family member, friend, and stranger. Offer to be by their side as they fearfully step inside the Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Your presence will comfort them and give them strength to see for themselves what church is really about. Your invitation and presence will open the door for them to know that church isn’t filled with stereotypical Christians, but instead, sinners in need of saving. People worth knowing – people just like you and me.

Romans 8:14-16, NIV, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Dear God, Almighty Father, thank you for touching our hearts of your fatherly love. May you grant us that grace so that we may be worthy as your sons and daughters. Oh, how great it is to be carried by you in your arms as we rest our burdens on your shoulders. How great it is to sit on your lap as you listen to every word our hearts say. Being recognized as your child alone is the greatest honor every creation of yours can have. It also brings immeasurable joy in our hearts. Guide us always Lord to follow the flock you’re leading. Be our shepherd always for every decision we make and every step we take, we need you to govern our mind

Ways That Serving the Baptist Church Can Change You

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:24-25 A churchgoer is not meant just to go to Manassas Baptist Church on days of obligation. Perhaps you’re still finding your way and where you feel called to serve, and that’s fine. But don’t let it take years of your life to figure out. Attending church is a blessing, and serving in any ministry is vital, no matter what you’re doing. And it’s not about feeling good or better about yourself; getting involved with church is just about desiring to serve God and His people. Serving in a Baptist Church increases one’s faith Through serving, God gave me a front row seat to seeing Him change people’s lives. That sounds a bit dramatic, but it’s true. One way to increase your faith is to read the Word of God (the Bible).  Romans 10:17 says, “Consequ

Romans 8:26, NIV, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Dear God, let your Holy Spirit descend upon us all and over the whole world. To guide and enlighten our paths as we walk this earth toward your Kingdom in heaven. To uncover the greatness of your power before our mortal eyes. You are our King and our God. Let your holy infiniteness reign in every heart of your people since your ways and thoughts are higher than ours. Our King and our God, send your Holy Spirit so that we may see our own weakness and help us put them into prayers. We lift our hands and yearning hearts to you, Father, we ask for your blessing through your Holy Spirit and your son Jesus Christ. Amen.
