Why Should You Volunteer at a Baptist Church

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Serving in the church is how one expresses the life of Jesus Christ to others. The Baptist Church becomes crippled if one doesn’t serve according to their God-given gifts. As we allow the Gospel to change our hearts, we will develop deep care for other people. Our attention will begin to turn away from ourselves and to the needs of others. To measure one’s spiritual health means knowing how concerned one is for other people.

In the life that we live in, there are many causes that you can volunteer in during your spare time. Volunteering is a worthwhile activity that not only enriches the hearts of others but yours as well.

“And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our ancestors that I am on trial today. This is the promise our twelve tribes are hoping to see fulfilled as they earnestly serve God day and night. King Agrippa, it is because of this hope that these Jews are accusing me.” Acts 26:6-7

With our busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering in the Baptist Church can be enormous, like:

-Volunteering in a Baptist Church gives you a chance to make a person redeem themselves. These efforts will result in changing someone's life for eternity and make him or her brand new.

-Being a volunteer gives you a healthier image of yourself. You will have a good sense of pride in knowing that your life has made a difference in other people. Remember, serving others exposes your character to areas that need to be refined.

-As a volunteer, you will be making better decisions. Volunteering keeps you in regular contact with others and helps you develop a solid support system, which, in turn, protects you against depression. Instead of having a weekly night out, you’ll be more hard-wired to give to others.

No work is small, and volunteers are valuable resources for a Baptist Church. Whether it’s about the financial, spiritual, or physical contribution, it will matter a lot. Being a volunteer, you can get involved with noble work, serving those who need your care and affection.

Calvary Road Baptist Church is here to meet your spiritual needs. We have ministries of compassion who extend a hand in sharing the love and hope that is found in the Good News. If you’re a member or a regular attendant in our church and you want an opportunity to serve, then why don’t you take advantage of a first serve opportunity and try something until you find your right fit? There is always an opportunity for new volunteers to help in any of our ministries. You can visit us or email us if you have any questions about how you can help in the church’s service or activities.

Romans 8:14-16, NIV, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Dear God, Almighty Father, thank you for touching our hearts of your fatherly love. May you grant us that grace so that we may be worthy as your sons and daughters. Oh, how great it is to be carried by you in your arms as we rest our burdens on your shoulders. How great it is to sit on your lap as you listen to every word our hearts say. Being recognized as your child alone is the greatest honor every creation of yours can have. It also brings immeasurable joy in our hearts. Guide us always Lord to follow the flock you’re leading. Be our shepherd always for every decision we make and every step we take, we need you to govern our mind

Ways That Serving the Baptist Church Can Change You

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:24-25 A churchgoer is not meant just to go to Manassas Baptist Church on days of obligation. Perhaps you’re still finding your way and where you feel called to serve, and that’s fine. But don’t let it take years of your life to figure out. Attending church is a blessing, and serving in any ministry is vital, no matter what you’re doing. And it’s not about feeling good or better about yourself; getting involved with church is just about desiring to serve God and His people. Serving in a Baptist Church increases one’s faith Through serving, God gave me a front row seat to seeing Him change people’s lives. That sounds a bit dramatic, but it’s true. One way to increase your faith is to read the Word of God (the Bible).  Romans 10:17 says, “Consequ

Romans 8:26, NIV, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Dear God, let your Holy Spirit descend upon us all and over the whole world. To guide and enlighten our paths as we walk this earth toward your Kingdom in heaven. To uncover the greatness of your power before our mortal eyes. You are our King and our God. Let your holy infiniteness reign in every heart of your people since your ways and thoughts are higher than ours. Our King and our God, send your Holy Spirit so that we may see our own weakness and help us put them into prayers. We lift our hands and yearning hearts to you, Father, we ask for your blessing through your Holy Spirit and your son Jesus Christ. Amen.
