James 1:2,12, RSV, “Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials … Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him.”

Dear Father God, we may find it hard to keep up with the waves and storms, yet we know the greatness of your power. May you let us see your helping and loving hands reaching out to us among those big waves. So that we may not drown from our fears and hesitations. Please instill within us that behind every trial is your great plan for each of us for you only want what’s prosperous for all of us. Bury in us a strong and thankful heart because behind every trial is a great blessing more than we can imagine. Send upon us your Holy Spirit to lead and enlighten us about your ways, even though we may find it hard to comprehend sometimes. Ever loving God, everything here on earth is temporary and it is only you who is eternal. So even in the mourning of death, may we find you and your will. May we overcome and finish every test with a strengthened faith and love of your Holy Name. We ask this in your full glory. Amen.

We may truly see through His pain and fully turn against the devil. Thank you Lord for sending down your beloved son to cleanse us through his blood. We may come to live a life where all the things we do and the words we speak is to glorify your name. Strengthen us to always identify and follow a good path, then ignore and resist the bad path. Give us courage and strong will as well to carry our own cross as we take a rocky, difficult and dark road — let us see you. Thereafter, we will walk with Jesus and together we will proclaim your greatness to the whole of the earth. We will all come to you renewed, born again through yo...
