1 John 2:1–2, NIV, “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense – Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Dear God, thank you for you gave us salvation through our defender Jesus Christ. Please forgive us for we have sinned and disobeyed your commandments. Please strengthen us in time when we are much vulnerable to temptations and the works of evil. Empower your spirit within each of us to enlighten our thoughts and direct our actions to be more pleasing before your eyes. Help us, your poor children who want to seek peace and love in you, to walk a path of pure goodness. That we may genuinely serve you. We come before you today, begging for your mercy, asking for your protection. We pray this in your holy name, glorifying you always and forever. Amen.

Philippians 3:20-21, NIV, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” Dear God, keep us close to you. Govern our minds and hearts so whatever we may do be done in the glory and in honor of our savior Jesus Christ. One who forever reigns the heaven and earth. We will wait for His coming for we believe that we will be renewed and cleansed deserving a citizenship in heaven. For this, help us Oh Lord to find enlightenment in your words and that we may be able to put them into action. Grant us a kind, forgiving, honest, patient and loving heart so that we may proclaim your goodness sincerely and truthfully to everyone. Keep us strong for every test that challenges our faith and love in you. We trust in you Oh God always in every step of the way. Amen. Calvary Road Baptist Ch

Isaiah 45:22-23, NIV, “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.” Dear God, how great of you. Everything here on earth is temporary — money is, fame is, jewelry is, even us humans. It is only you Lord God who is eternal — your Kingdom, your will, your love. How beautiful it is to live in accordance with your will and laws where we can find true peace and justice. Thank you Lord God for sending down your beloved son Jesus Christ to save us all. Thank you for through Him, we are able to see more of you and your greatness. Help us to become a more faithful and honest servant of you. Help us to be more worthy of your goodness. Hear out our hearts yearning for your guidance so that we may not stray away from the path you have prepared for us. Give us strength and willpower to resist t

How to Be a Disciple in Today’s Manassas Baptist Church

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”Matthew 28:18-20 Today, we have a challenging question. Are you a true disciple of Jesus Christ or just a Christian? The Bible has passages that are the blueprint to those who claim that they are. By understanding what these writings mean, you will know what the Lord expects from you. But what makes a good disciple? Jesus knew what was in men's hearts. Today, a good disciple will take the initiative to listen to those around him or her. He or she will learn their names. He or she will take a keen interest in their everyday actions. A good disciple means to be a shepherd over the Lord's flock because discipleship goes beyond belief. It's the commitment to act, to speak, and to reach out to bring those lost back to the fold. Here
